We’ve come to the conclusion that ice cream will never just be a summer thing! This week, we pushed through a few brain freezes (and annoying blender sounds) at HQ and came up with the 5 BEST nice cream recipes. We're saying goodbye to eating ice cream all summer and hello to eating ice cream all fall! Buuuut before we get started, maybe you’re wondering… WTF is “Nice Cream”?! It’s like regular ice cream, but it’s better for you!
PUMPKIN SPICE NICE CREAM
This pumpkin spice “nice cream” bowl is the perfect way to bring in fall, it's not super cold yet so we’re definitely still in need of that ice cream fix every so often! This simple recipe is guaranteed to give you alllll the festive feels!
NICE CREAM BASE:
4 - ripe frozen bananas
1 scoop - Flat Tummy Vanilla Shake
1 tbsp - maple syrup
1 cup - unsweetened pumpkin puree
1.5 tsp - pumpkin pie spice
2 tbsp - unsweetened almond milk
½ tsp - vanilla extract
OUR TOPPING IDEAS:
Pecans
Pepitas
Chia seeds
Pumpkin pie spice
DIRECTIONS:
It’s EASY, babe! All you have to do is blend all your base ingredients together, smooth into a bowl and add your fav fall toppings!
CARAMEL NICE CREAM
Healthy caramel ice cream? H*ll yeah! The dates in this recipe bring out the super strong, delicious caramel flavors we looove! Our NO.1 pro babe tip is to hold off on adding the macadamia nuts until the end to give it a little crunch (thank us later)!
NICE CREAM BASE:
1 - frozen banana
1 scoop - Flat Tummy Strawberry Shake
½ cup - dates
¼ cup - macadamia nuts
1 tbsp - honey
1 - pinch of himalayan rock salt
2-3 cups - ice
OUR TOPPING IDEAS:
Chopped macadamias/peanuts
Flaked coconut
Maple syrup
Granola
DIRECTIONS:
In a food processor, add all the ingredients and blend until smooth. Transfer to a small pan and place in the freezer for 30 minutes. Scoop into bowls, top and serve.
PB&J NICE CREAM
Nothing goes together like peanut butter and jelly... buuut have you ever tried it frozen? Your mind is about to be blown! Make your own strawberry jam and combine it with the creamy, rich banana/peanut butter base - you won’t be disappointed!
NICE CREAM BASE:
6 - ripe frozen bananas
1 scoop - Flat Tummy Strawberry Shake
3 tbsp - peanut butter
1/4 tbsp - salt
STRAWBERRY CHIA JAM
1/2 cup - frozen strawberries
1/2 tsp - maple syrup
1/4 tsp - chia seeds
DIRECTIONS:
Heat the frozen strawberries on low heat in a small pot, add the maple syrup and cook until soft. Using a fork, mash the strawberries and add in your chia seeds. Let jam sit for around an hour to thicken. Once jam is cool, blend the bananas, peanut butter and salt together until your mixture is nice and smooth. Transfer peanut butter ice cream into a pan lined with baking paper and swirl the strawberry jam into the ice cream. Freeze for 3-4 hours, then enjoy!
COLD BREW NICE CREAM
Can’t decide if you want a coffee or ice cream? We’ve all been there! Why not have the best of both worlds, babe? Thickened by bananas and made rich by Medjool dates, every bite of this delicious cold brew nice cream gives you a little boost!
ICE CREAM BASE
2 - ripe frozen bananas
1 scoop - Flat Tummy Chocolate Shake
2 - Medjool dates
1/4 cup - cashew butter
1/4 cup - cold brew (frozen into ice cubes)
1 tsp - coffee extract
OUR TOPPING IDEAS!
Chopped dates
Coconut flakes
Peanut butter
Chopped nuts
DIRECTIONS:
Chop and freeze your bananas and pour cold brew into an ice tray for freezing. Once your bananas and coffee have frozen, blend all base ingredients in a food processor, and blend until smooth. Transfer to a small pan and place in the freezer for 30 minutes. Scoop into bowls and serve!
BLUEBERRY + BANANA NICE CREAM
This recipe has got to be one of our favs as we add in a scoop of our very own Vanilla Shake powder, packing this bowl full of extra protein, vitamins & probiotics!
NICE CREAM BASE
3 - bananas, frozen, sliced
3/4 cup - fresh blueberries, chopped
1 scoop - Flat Tummy Vanilla Shake
2 tbsp - unsweetened almond milk
1/2 tsp - ground cinnamon
OUR TOPPING IDEAS:
1/4 cup - toasted oats or your fav granola
Chia seeds
Coconut flakes
White choc chips
DIRECTIONS:
Place frozen bananas, vanilla shake powder, almond milk & cinnamon into the food processor and blend until smooth. Add in the rest of the ingredients and pulse for about 15 seconds. Pour into a bread pan and freeze for 3-4 hours. Scoop into a bowl and top with your fav toppings!
