Here are our top 3 tips on how to stay on track!

Ok, so you wanna maintain that kick ass tummy you’ve been working on. You’ve gotten back on track now it’s time to stay on track. But let’s be real, it can sometimes get a bit tricky! So to give you that extra push to kickstart your first FT NEXT cycle and start it with a BANG, here are 3 of our top tips on how to stay on track!

  1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

Ummm, fun fact time… Did you know it is recommended that you drink at least 64oz (1.9L) of water per day?! Nope, neither did we. And boy, were we missing out. So tip no. 1.. Start your day with a talllll glass of H20. Your body is over 70% water, and when you wake up your body totally craves it because it’s at it’s lowest H20 point! Our solution? Fill up a glass or bottle before bed each night and put it beside your bed. That way, as soon as that alarm goes off, you can get that water in your tummy before you even get out of bed! Research suggests that drinking 16oz (0.5L) of water upon waking in the morning is not just a great way to rehydrate, it also kick starts your metabolism and helps your body flush out all those nasty toxins! Plus, that way you’ve had 1/4 of what you need for the day before you’ve even left the house! #winning

Keep track of how much you’re drinking throughout the day, buy yourself a kick-ass bottle that has the ounces marked out on the side and set yourself a goal of how much you want to have drunk by certain times. In an 8 hour day, if you’ve had your 16oz (0.5L) in the morning, that’s only 6oz (0.18L) an hour! You got this! Buuuuut if you’re a bit of a forgetful babe and have trouble keeping track of the time… we’ve got you. Set an alarm at intervals throughout the day so you can stay on track with your schedule!

  1. Get moving, babe!

The American Heart Association recommends 30 minutes of exercise 5 days a week. And before you say anything, we know, it sounds like a lot. Buuuut we promise it can be done. For example, if you’re the kind of babe that sits at a desk all day, grab a friend at work and go for a walk in your lunch break. Getting the blood flowing will help you stay focused all afternoon, rather than going back to your desk and getting into that post lunch slump!

On the weekends, instead of going for coffee and sitting around in Starbucks with a girlfriend, chuck on your sneakers and get your coffee to go! The time will fly by because you’ll be more interested in catching up on all the goss rather than how many minutes you’ve been walking for. Or ditch the coffee altogether and try out that new fitness class you have been talking about trying for months. You don’t need to become a gym junkie, just get that booty moving girl! #babeonamission

  1. It’s all about balance

Girl, trust us. You will actually be SO surprised how much you can eat each day if you follow a relatively healthy, well balanced diet. And yeah babe, that includes carbs #yesway. Being prepared and keeping it simple is the best way to keep your diet on track. Start your day with a healthy breakfast. And no, healthy doesn’t have to mean difficult. But yes, healthy can still mean freaking tasty! A bowl of oats with a bit of banana and cinnamon is great after a morning workout, or avocado and tomato on toast with some eggs can be a delicious combo. But if you’re a babe with a bit of a sweet tooth... Check out our super easy, super delicious banana pancake recipe, that has less than 300 calories!

The less you eat foods with high levels of sugar and salt, the less you miss it. Too busy during the week to make a fresh lunch each day? Cook in bulk on the weekend and freeze a lunch sized portion for each day. Steering away from highly processed, preservative filled convenience foods will make you feel so much better from the inside out. Instead, swap them out for a piece or fruit, or an FTT HQ favourite, raw veggies and hummus or a low fat ranch are an easy, low cost ways to snack healthy!

We’re not saying you shouldn’t treat yourself occasionally babe, of course you should - you deserve it, just not everyday. And last, of all, FT NEXT has got your back. And besides, if you have a pizza wins again moment, just rip open that Maintain sachet and combat that #whoops moment.
